This record was made in the midst of an ongoing reckoning with anxiety. It’s always been a part of my life, it’s had more than an acceptable amount of agency and impact. So this record sounds like spiraling, losing control, self love, self mockery, intense fear, nervous release, circular thoughts that just ramp up in intensity…

There’s not a solution or an end point or a victory here because I’ve not nearly found that yet (in fact I know it doesn’t exist).

The closest I have is an earnest thankfulness held for my body for trying to protect me. We earn our anxiety and insecurities through tangible violence that burrows deep deep inside of us.

But I’m trying to tell it that I’m a different person now, and I don’t need to be kept safe anymore.
